Azdavay (Turkey, Black sea region) is one stop before the last on the road (if we count only towns). I’ve never been there in winter – some locals said it becomes pretty deserted this time and many cafes and small restaurants in the town center close.
But in summer it has everything that you may need if you want both nature and some – but not excessive – social life: hills, stunning landscapes, shallow gray mountain river with two bridges, steep, almost vertical slopes covered with pines, small restaurants and shops in the main street, cute coffee bars, nice locals slightly surprised that a foreigner got so far… I must admit, once there was a man, who barged to me on a street cafe terrace, trying to “make an acquaintance” – but if you know a place where such people can’t be found, tell me where it is! 🙂Â
So, now my summertime Azdavay in pictures – for how much I was able to capture so far, coming there two times in two years.

- A view from my hotel room window. Sketched it as usual on a back side of some printed paper while it was raining outside. And then left it as gift to my welcoming hosts.

- A forest covered rock. Painted first in 2017 and then elaborated and improved in 2019. This one is present also in my gallery

- Street corner. No, it’s not a mistake that the roof is so asymmetric 🙂 They are actually like this!
