In this post I introduce some of my works made in Kyiv or nearby in recent years.
Kyiv is quite a big city – it has ~3 million population according to Wikipedia. And it feels like a big city: big buildings, roads with traffic, several large districts with distinct character, many diverse smaller neighborhoods inside these big areas… But once I put together my art works made here, I feel like saying: if one looks at my pictures only, they would probably think that Kyiv is all forest!
So, let me get you acquainted with trees and forests of Kyiv.

- A huge pine forest starts right behind the blocks of a quarter that is named accordingly: Lisovyi (“forest quarter”) – and spreads far, reaching neighboring satellite towns and further. In the part nearest to the city it’s a popular place for locals to take a walk and picnic.
-
- There is a bunch of especially big pine trees just 2 steps from the last city blocks, with lower branches spreading wide. This is a portrait of one of them.
-
- Lakes in a park that merges into forest at one end. Residential buildings bordering the park reflect in the water mirror.
-
- This is not exactly in Kyiv – but in its close neighborhood reachable easily by car or public transport. The artificial sea at the north of the city and people fishing in late afternoon.
First 5 images presented above – and many more – can be found also in my Gallery on my home page here.
